Thermoplastic materials are trending up in dentistry and are gaining traction when taking your removeable department digital. This educational session will take you full circle on the implementation process of these new solutions and how it changes your current production. The high strength of these materials provides you with mill able options for both tooth and tissue borne clasping. In some instances, all from one puck. Converting to these new processes may require little to no change in how your production already operates. Most laboratories with a CAD/CAM department may already be setup to complete this process and not even realize it. These new restorations are lightweight, strong, polish easily, and can be milled in-house. Lecturer and trainer, Mr. Kris Schermerhorn, CDT has a degree in dental technology from J. Sergeant Reynolds College and presently owns and manages a full-service dental lab in Virginia. Kris first began working with acetal resins and other thermoplastic dental materials in 1996. He is the co-inventor of the Myerson Hot Shot Elite injection gun, and co-developer of Myerson DuraCetal, DuraFlex, VisiClear materials, as well as the Myerson FlexPress digital injection system. Kris was named inventor of the year in 2007 by the NADL.
